Mediwrap is an excellent product to use with burns victims as it helps prevent the onset of
hypothermia. Like other trauma patients, burns victims are prone to go into shock and get cold very quickly. Mediwrap prevents this, even in extreme climate conditions. The soft, comfortable and
absorbent lining does not lint or breakdown, even after absorbing body fluids and it will not stick to patients.

However, it must be stressed that Mediwrap is NOT a burns dressing, it should be used in
conjunction with such dressings. Also it should not be used on patients that are pyrexic
(overheated blood) as these patients require rapid cooling before anything else. After cooling, then Mediwrap will be appropriate to use.
